Vicky is a Director in KISCH IP’s Trade Mark Department and has 16 years’ experience. She has a BA and LLB from the University of Kwazulu-Natal. She was admitted as an attorney of the High Court of South Africa in 2004 and gained her trade mark practitioners’ qualification in 2006.
Vicky specialises in South African and international trade mark and copyright matters, including trade mark searching, brand selection and implementation strategy, filing and prosecution of trade mark applications, trade mark maintenance, assignments and formalities and brand portfolio management, as well as in domain name registration and enforcement strategy.
Vicky also specialises in commercial intellectual property (IP) and IP licensing matters including conducting IP due diligence investigations and advising on and drafting commercial IP agreements and licence agreements.
Vicky represents a broad range of clients across various industries and sectors, including the banking and finance sector, telecommunications sector, fast moving consumer goods industry and entertainment industry.
Vicky served two terms as President of the South African Institute of Intellectual Property Law (SAIIPL), in 2016 and 2017 and is the current Convenor of the SAIIPL Trade Mark Law Committee and CIPC / SAIIPL Liaison Committee.
