Background

Werner is a registered South African patent attorney and holds the position of Director in the Patent Department of KISCH IP.

With his degree in mechanical engineering, Werner’s main areas of expertise include the preparing, filing and prosecution of patent applications which are the subject of mechanical and mining-related inventions. However, Werner also has a keen interest in basic electrical, computer and information technologies and as such practise in these fields as well. Werner also prepares and files registered design applications, writes a wide range of legal opinions and provides advice on copyright law.

As a result of his experience and technical background, Werner is well placed in assisting and guiding a wide range of clients in protecting their innovative inventions both locally and abroad.

Werner is furthermore a fellow of the South African Institute of Intellectual Property Law (SAIIPL), serves on various of its committees and is the author of various internationally published articles.
