Nicolette has worked in the field of IP since 2016, both in practice and as a faculty of law lecturer of the subject. At present, she is a trade mark associate in our Trade Mark Prosecution Department, handling both local and foreign trade mark prosecution matters for a broad range of clients across various industries and sectors.
Nicolette holds LLB and LLM (business law) degrees from the University of KwaZulu-Natal, the latter focusing on IP and for which a dissertation distinction was achieved. She was admitted as an attorney of the High Court of South Africa in 2017, and obtained her trade mark practitioners’ qualification in 2022, following which she was accepted as a Fellow of the South African Institute of Intellectual Property Law (SAIIPL).
In line with her keen interest in education and development, Nicolette has been appointed as the NextGen (Young Professional) Ambassador for a CIPC and Swiss IP initiative, which forms part of the overall ChIPs Network, an international non-profit organisation, whose mission is to advance and connect women in technology, law and policy.
