Africa Day is the annual commemoration of the foundation of the Organisation of African Unity on 25 May 1963.

The theme for 2019 is “Healthy Lifestyle Prolongs Life” which was selected to emphasise the significant relationship between an unhealthy lifestyle and premature mortality.

The theme is in line with Aspiration 1 of the Agenda 2063 which is “A prosperous Africa, based on inclusive growth and sustainable development”.
