This year, for Mandela Day 2023, we had the privilege of participating in a range of volunteer activities that truly captured the spirit of service and giving back. 

 

We began by visiting Thutuzela Aid Orphanage, where we provided meals to 78 children and 11 caretakers. Spending time with the children and staff was a heartwarming experience, and we were grateful to contribute to such a meaningful cause. 

 

Next, we headed to Paws-R-Us to join their dog-walking program for rescue dogs. It was wonderful to give the dogs some exercise in the outdoors and affection. Additionally, we donated cleaning products that the facility had requested, helping to maintain a clean and safe environment for the animals. 

 

Our day concluded with a visit to The Galeo Lifecare Retirement Village, where we brought along some delicious Malva pudding and spent time socializing with the residents. It was a joyful experience, filled with warm conversations and shared moments. 

 

Mandela Day 2023 was truly special, as we had the opportunity to make a positive impact in multiple communities. Thank you to everyone who joined us in honoring Nelson Mandela’s legacy of compassion, kindness, and service.
